Inside the airports vicinity is the 1940 Air Terminal Museum. It houses original art pieces formerly located in the art deco building. This airport was first used in 1927. It served as a private landing field. The first airlines that made use of its facility were the Braniff Airlines and the Eastern Airlines. For sometime, its name was changed to <strong>Howard R. Hughes Airport</strong> but due to issues with regulation, it was reverted back to its current name.</p>
